The Big Idea

The Valley Capri is such an amazing blast from the past place. Even the natural lighting is fantastic! I felt like I was in a Wes Anderson movie so I kept that whole vibe in mind when shooting. Wanted everything to feel warm, colorful, and full of personality.

Transforming the Space

Whenever I shoot at a location, I always look for the sweet spot in the room that conveys the personality of it. This house had so many beautiful parts in the room and has countless areas to shoot in. My favorite spot is the living room and would love to shoot there again.

Question & Answer

"
The secret to originality is being yourself because nobody can be you
"
How do you stay inspired?
I stay inspired by constantly pushing myself forward. To picture my goals ahead and reach for it.
How do you find your models? What do you look for in a location?
I find most of my models through Instagram, I usually get a lot of requests to shoot through my DMs and email. As for locations, it was my biggest problem for me before I found Peerspace. I can never find locations I liked in Los Angeles.
From ideation to execution, what is your creative process like?
It’s strange, but my creative process is to have lots of room for spontaneity. I feel that the more you think about a concept, you leave room for existing influences to come into your concept which gives it a higher chance to be cliché.
What does creativity mean to you?
Creativity is simply to create. To communicate anything from your mind and make it real.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?
Don’t wait for opportunities, create them.
