How would you describe your photography style? What’s your favorite thing to shoot?
Anything to do with human emotion is what I’m most interested in photographing. Whether that’s portraiture, street photography, or travel- it’s the people and their stories that I’m most interested in.
What advice would you give to aspiring photographers wanting to make photography full time?
These days, it’s not enough to just be a talented photographer. You need to bring additional skills to the table- clients expect a full package- the ability to tell a story, writing skills, video work, retouching- a lot of the creative industry is shifting towards artists with diversified skill sets.
How do you stay inspired?
The best way to stay inspired is to have multiple creative outlets. When I’m burnt out on photography, I’ll write instead, and then I can re-approach my visual craft with fresh eyes, and vice versa.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?
If I could go back and tell something to my younger self, it would be that the creative industry is a viable career path, and that there’s room for anyone with the right mindset to succeed.
