What initially drew you to photography? How did you learn the ropes?
I was drawn to photography because I loved the idea of capturing moments in time as an art form. I started to learn the ropes my sophomore year of high school when I took my first photography class.
What do you look for in a location?
For a location, my first thought is usually “what would this space look like at night?” I want my locations to be well lit, both naturally and artificially, and colorful.
From ideation to execution, what is your creative process like?
My creative process starts with this big idea that I have to dissect. I usually start out by finding a location to fit the vibe I’m going for, figuring out hair, makeup, and styling to match, then find models who would fit the concept best.
What advice would you give to aspiring photographers wanting to make photography full time?
Practice! Practice! Practice! When I first started off, I would go in my backyard every single day, set up my tripod, and take a self-portrait. Shooting as much as you can will help you build a solid portfolio and break into the business!
Your life motto
You will never know your limits until you push yourself to them. I have to remind myself of this whenever big changes start to happen.
