What initially drew you to photography? How did you learn the ropes?
From a young age my mom would give me disposable cameras to play around with and I absolutely loved taking pictures with them. In highschool I took a photography class and realized how much I still enjoyed taking photos. I learned a lot from trial and error and shooting whenever I had the chance.
How would you describe your photography style? What’s your favorite thing to shoot?
I’d say that my photography style has grown into being very film inspired, cinematic, & colorful. I’m always particular about what colors are in frame and how they’re all going to work together in the final product. I enjoy taking photos of people the most because of the unlimited possibilities.
How do you stay creative and inspired?
Music is definitely one of my top inspirations. I visualize almost every song I listen to and create a “music video” in my mind which helps me come up with new concepts. Lana Del Rey is my top inspiration musically because her lyrics & melodies really match my modern/nostalgic style.
What’s your favorite iPhone camera/editing app?
I don’t edit my photography with my phone but I do use a few apps for my photos I take with my phone! I like to use Snapseed, Lightroom Mobile, and the trusty VSCO.
What advice would you give to aspiring photographers wanting to make photography full time?
Shoot as often as you can! I say this all the time but it’s so important, as a photographer you are always learning. I don’t think there has been a single shoot that I’ve done that I haven’t learned something new from. You just have to be able to recognize when you’re ready to make it your full time job.
