How would you describe your photography style?
Simple, bright, and minimal. I try to distill the story and scene down to its ultimate essence and leave the distracting elements out.
What stories do you love telling through your photos?
I love capturing stories filled with light, whimsy, simplicity, and happiness – especially those found in everyday life.
How do you stay creative and inspired? Do you ever hit creative blocks? What do you do when that happens?
This happens more often than I’d like ! I'm either trying too hard to create content too fast, and I need to slow down. Or, I need to hit the reset button and go back to looking at the images that have inspired me: saved magazine cut-outs, my Pinterest boards, etc. But often, I think hitting these blocks tells me that I need to go out and seek more authentic experiences outside of simply creating content. Experiences and images that truly tell a story.
Your life motto
"Showing up is 80 percent of life. Sometimes it's easier to hide home in bed. I've done both” -Woody Allen. When I first heard this quote I found it a little difficult to interpret. But later I found that it truly applies to a lot of things in life. To me, it means that you really show up to what you do. You’re present. You try. I can’t say that many of my ideas or things in life work out the way I want – but I try to maintain a vision and put a wholehearted effort into everything I do.
