Can you share your journey to becoming the owner of 230 films?
230 Films started after a few friends and I created our first passion project last year. All of us started out as photographers, but the moment we understood what it felt like to see the finished product of a film, it was an easy choice.
What’s your favorite thing to shoot?
I enjoy taking photos of things that make myself and others happy. Actually, I enjoy taking photos of food the most. I don’t know why I take photos of people. Force of habit maybe.
What advice would you give to aspiring cinematographers wanting to make it full time?
Like with all creative pursuits, there is no perfect time to start. Start learning. Start doing. Then start reteaching what you’ve learned. This world belongs to the doers- not the dreamers.
How do you stay creative and inspired? Do you ever hit creative blocks? What do you do when that happens?
I measure my success as an artist on my resourcefulness but it’s hard for me to stay inspired 24/7/365 if I’m not constantly experiencing something new. I’m not always inspired but when I am, I run with it. I shut out the world for a moment and channel my energy towards learning and doing because motivation is temporary.
Your life motto:
“Stay Happy”
