The Big Idea

This was shot at the peak of the day which typically would be the worst time to shoot but I found the drastic shadows to be a nice complement to the dramatic architecture of the chateau. I explored a wide range of styles and looks to create a vibe that had a sense of leisure, sexiness, and emotion.

Transforming the Space

In order to transform a space, you need to find the defining features and mix them with your style. Take the time to think bigger; I always tell myself that there’s another shot I’m not thinking of. This mindset forces you to step out of the box.

Question & Answer

"
There is only ONE of you in this world and that’s the most powerful thing.
"
How do you stay inspired?
Constantly keeping my eyes open. Sounds simple but it’s truly so important. Anything from the font on a Chinese takeout bag to the mood I woke up in that morning can get my brain going. Continue to find scenery, people, music, and other artists that excite you.
How do you find your models? What do you look for in a location?
I find my models through Instagram and via mutual friends. If i’m not stalking the shit out of the explore page, I’m at an event socializing with the inner mindset of finding a new face that will inspire something great. Locations are subjective, the location will normally follow the concept or the concept will follow the location. Never looking for one or the other; one will come to me and the other follows.
From ideation to execution, what is your creative process like?
Photography is so much more than just the craft. It’s 80% execution, preparation, and social skills. 1st I find a model, next I form a mood board that fits his or her vibe mixed with mine. That’s where the concept is born. Then I take all my thoughts and find the place to make it come to life.
Words you live by
1) There is only ONE of you in this world and that’s the most powerful thing. There is no other you, think about that for a second. 2) Insecurity = jealousy = anger = hatred Confidence = ambition = work ethic = success… make sense? 3) Does it really f*cking matter? Never stop asking yourself that. There’s always bigger fish to fry
